CANADA INVESTMENTS AND SAVINGS BEGINS BOND PROMOTION

Canada Investments and Savings, the government agency responsible for the sale of Canada Savings Bonds, has begun its 2003/2004 sales effort. The campaign got unerway with a national Web cast yesterday. A one-hour television program will air on Global TV on Saturday. A 28-minute infomercial will air nationally on Global TV, TVA and TVAChatTV. The campaign will also include national print advertising through October, plus a series of advertorials and two television commercials aimed at new and existing customers. The agency will also bring back the contest component called "Tell Us Your CSB Story," which invites Canadians to describe how Canada Savings Bonds have affected their lives. The contest is being run by CanWest in English Canada and Radio Canada in French Canada. The youth-oriented Web sites <http://www.kidscansave.gc.ca> and <http://www.generationepargne.gc.ca> have also been re-designed this year. Advertising for Canada Savings Bonds is done by Vickers and Benson Companies of Toronto. Public relations are handled by Goodman Communications of Toronto.
