IMPERIAL TOBACCO CREATES TWO NEW SUBSIDIARIES

Imperial Tobacco Canada of Montreal has created two new subsidiaries: Channel 2 and Rumbling Walls Events. The tobacco company announced the creation of the units yesterday, the day before the federal government's ban on tobacco advertising and promotion went into effect. Channel 2 will specialize in the management of merchandising displays at various venues. Rumbling Walls Events will provide integrated marketing services across magazines, Web sites and events. "After 33 years of outstanding sponsorship activities including racing, jazz festivals, golf and tennis, we are proud to call upon the experience we have gained to be of service to other companies," said Imperial Tobacco Canada vice-president of marketing Jeff Guiler.
