FOOD BANKS, INVESTORS GROUP BEGIN CAMPAIGN

The Investors Group of Winnipeg and The Canadian Association of Food Banks will break a two-week national advertising campaign today called "Food For Thought." The $300,000 initiative is intended to boost donations to food banks nationally. Quarter-page print ads, created by McKim Communications of Winnipeg, will run in 38 newspapers. The creative relates that one in 40 Canadians rely on food banks. The ads ask readers to donate food or money to food banks in their communities. The campaign was developed and paid for by Investors Group. Individual Investor Group offices will also host events to encourage food donations. Public relations for the effort are being handled by Environics Communications of Toronto.
