MCDONALD'S BEGINS FRIES SURPRISE CONTEST
By Adnews Staff
Participating McDonald's restaurants in Canada began a contest on Friday called "Fries Surprise." The initiative will run until Oct. 16. Customers examine two tabs on the backs of specially marked medium and large fry boxes. If the two symbols printed there match, the customer is eligible to win the corresponding prize. Prizes include Ford F-150 FX4 pick-up trucks, Samsung 32" flat screen televisions and McDonald's menu items. The concept came from Marketing Store Worldwide of Toronto. National bilingual television advertising, national English-language radio advertising and in-restaurant materials, all created by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto, are promoting the contest. Public relations are being handled by Weber Shandwick Worldwide of Toronto.
