MIKES RESTAURANTS PULLS THEODORE SPOT
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based casual restaurant chain Mikes Restaurants has pulled its television advertising featuring Montreal Canadiens goaltender José Theodore for an indefinite time. Theodore signed a three-year deal to be spokesperson for the chain last fall. A statement from the company read in part, "In the company's opinion, the communication objectives targeted by this publicity message are presently comprised due to recent events." Theodore's father, Ted Nicholas Theodore, and his four half-brothers were reportedly arrested on Wednesday morning when Montreal police conducted a series of loan-shark raids. A new television commercial for Mikes began airing on Saturday.
