SAMSUNG PROMOTES DIGITAL LIGHT PROCESSING TVS

Samsung Electronics Canada is using public relations and advertising to promote three new Digital Light Processing televisions being sold in Canada for the first time. The public relations campaign consisted of events at hotels in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in May. Each location was made-over into a living room with a couch, a coffee table and a 108" replica of a DLP television. A Samsung representative unveiled the televisions and explained how they work. The advertising includes a magazine ad in ROB Magazine, Profit, Maclean's, L'Actualite and Quebec Audio. The ad depicts a man on a couch with his arms behind his head. The headline reads, "Introducing Samsung DLP TV. The world has never seen anything like it." The ad will run until December. The PR events were organized by Edelman. The advertising was created by CCA, Samsung's in-house advertising agency.
