INTERPUBLIC APPOINTS COO

Christopher Coughlin will become chief operating officer of The Interpublic Group of Companies on June 16. He will join the advertising holding company from Pharmacia where he is currently executive vice-president and chief financial officer. Interpublic's operating groups include McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, FCB Group, The Partnership and Interpublic Sports and Entertainment Group.
