FAMOUS PLAYERS BEGINS B2B CAMPAIGN, STRIKES KRISPY KREME DEAL

Toronto-based Field Day is in the process of implementing a business-to-business marketing plan for Famous Players. The agency was hired to handle the marketing of the theatre chain's B2B initiatives in January, said Field Day president Andrew Arntfield. The marketing plan includes direct mail, e-mail, sales collateral, Web material and video. Field Day recieved the assignment based on project work it completed for the company in December.
In related news, the Famous Players has formed a concession partnership with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be sold at specially branded concession stands in nine Famous Players theatres in Ontario. The stands will be open by the end of May. The stands will sell four varieties of doughnut. KremeKo of Markham, ON is the area developer for Krispy Kreme in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. It opened the first Canadian Krispy Kreme store in Mississauga in December 2001. KremeKo's development rights now include the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan as well. The development rights for British Columbia are held by KremeWorks, the area developer for Washington, Hawaii, Oregon and Alaska.
