SCHIZOPHRENIA SOCIETY BEGINS YOUTH CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
A youth awareness program from the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario will begin on Thursday. The program is aimed at people 15 to 24 years of age, a time, according to the society, when symptoms of schizophrenia generally begin to appear. A 30-second television public service announcement will run on Citytv, CP24, The New VR and CBC during May. English, French, Cantonese and Italian versions of the ad will direct viewers to a new Web site at <http://www.sssoaware.com> where additional information will be available. Wendy Douglas, marketing and communications manager for the society, said a second phase of the program will be aimed at teachers. The society intends to bring the academic portion of the program to schools by the end of May. The program was created in-house and produced by Madog Productions of Toronto.
