SHAW GETS BIGGER IN THE U.S.

Shaw MobileComm Inc. of Calgary has made a deal with MobileMedia Corp. of New Jersey that will make it easier for both paging companies to serve their customers around the whole of North America. The two companies will share their transmission equipment on both sides of the border. Under the agreement, the companies will also do joint market research and create new services together. Shaw bought two paging companies in the US. last year: Dial Page and MobileComm. Advertising for Shaw's North American coverage will begin in late summer, handled by Marshall Fenn of Toronto. Shaw has over 100,000 subscribers in Canada.
