HILTON, TOURISM COMMISION, AIR CANADA PLAN FURTHER EMAIL CAMPAIGNS

Hilton Canada, the Canadian Tourism Commission and Air Canada will conduct future electronic marketing campaigns together, the companies have announced. The three firms, along with Fourth Wall Media of Toronto, held an email-based campaign called "Why Canada" last fall. The effort targeted U.S. meeting planners with four emails describing aspects of Canada that made it a good meeting destination. Each email offered a chance to win a weekend trip to Quebec City or a leather briefcase. According to Barbara McCully, regional communications director for Hilton Canada, of the 3,600 email recipients, 1,400 entered the contest, double the expected response. McCully said the three companies are now looking for other business segments to target and will use Fourth Wall Media again for a new campaign later this year.
