CANWEST GLOBAL FOUNDER TO RETIRE

Izzy Asper, founder of CanWest Capital, now CanWest Global Communications, is retiring. At the company's annual general meeting earlier this week, Asper said he will step down as executive chairman immediately. He will remain chairman of the board of the company.
