Bristol-Myers Squibb of New York is holding a review to reduce the number of agencies handling its U.S. business. Bristol-Myers officials in Canada were unavailable to say whether the move would affect Canada. The company uses six agencies in the U.S., but wants to reduce that number to three. The U.S. agencies include Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt and Wells Rich Greene BDDP Advertising, both of New York, as well as the Chicago and New York offices of J. Walter Thompson. Bristol-Myers Canadian agencies are J. Walter Thompson of Toronto and Sudler & Hennessey/Gall and Academie-Ogilivie Communications, both of Montreal. Bristol-Myers markets over-the-counter drugs such as Excedrin and hair care products under the Clairol name.
