AIRLINE ASSOCIATION PROPOSES NEW ADVERTISING CODE
By Adnews Staff
The Air Transport Association of Canada has produced a voluntary advertising code for the country's airlines, according to a report in the Calgary Herald, designed to reduce confusion about the actual price of an airline ticket. Under the code, airline advertising must include surcharges such as fuel and insurance as part of the fare for domestic flights. Also, airlines must not advertise one-way fares within Canada if the price depends on the purchase of a round-trip ticket. The Air Transport Association expects the new rules to be in place by early next year, the report said.
