CMT HOLDS SHANIA TWAIN ONLINE CONTEST

CMT Canada has begun an online contest tied to an upcoming program called "CMT Live & Up Front With Shania." The interview will be part of the network's "12 days of Shania" programming, which will air from Nov. 1 to 12. On-air support along with print, outdoor and radio advertising are promoting the 12-day line up, which will include two documentaries, features, concerts and the interview. Contest entrants can win two passes to attend the taping of the interview along with airfare for two to Toronto, three nights accommodation, $250 in spending money and a copy of Shania Twain's new CD "UP." The contest is being promoted with radio and print advertising in some markets, in-store materials at Best Buy locations in Ontario and British Columbia and online at <http://www.universalcountry.ca> and <http://www.cmtcanada.com>. The winner of a second contest will call-in during the interview to ask Twain a question. That contest is being supported with radio promotion. CMT viewers have also been invited to submit questions via email, some of which will be asked during the interview. The advertising for the 12-day programming block was created by Corus Entertainment, which owns CMT Canada. Media planning and buying were handled by Mediactive Inc. of Edmonton.
