ONTARIO ACCOUNTANTS BREAK PRINT CAMPAIGN

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario will break a new print advertising campaign today created by Top Advertising of Toronto. It consists of three ads in Ontario daily newspapers. According to the organization, each ad presents a belief held by members of the institute: "We believe investor confidence is a trust," "We believe integrity is not negotiable," and "We believe leadership is action not position." The tagline is, "Ontario's 30,000 CAs: Protecting the public interest." Peter Varley, vice-president of public affairs for the institute, said that research conducted for the campaign showed that Ontarians are looking for assurance that the accounting profession is doing its part to protect the public interest in the wake of the U.S. corporate scandals. The print ads are part of a broader communications campaign that includes speaking engagements, media activities and a revised Web site.
