GILLETTE PICKS GLOBAL MEDIA AOR

The Gillette Co. of Boston has appointed MindShare Worldwide its global media agency of record. MindShare won the media planning and buying assignment in an agency review which also examined incumbent agencies OMD and Universal McCann. OMD handled Gillette's media activities in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Universal McCann handled the rest of the world except Japan, where media planning and buying for Gillette's Braun brand are handled by Dentsu. That assignment will continue. Creative advertising assignments for Gillette are not affected by this review. MindShare's appointment will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2003.
