ONTARIO ACCOUNTANTS CONTINUE NAME BRAND ADVERTISING
By Adnews Staff
The Certified General Accountants of Ontario will introduce new creative in their ongoing "Name Brand" advertising campaign this fall. The campaign was created by Clique Communications of Toronto to convey the message that certified general accountants have skills that businesses need. Next month new billboards will go up in Ontario. The creative will again make use of the names of accountants. A full-colour insert in The Globe and Mail on Oct. 22 and in the National Post on Oct. 29 will accompany the billboards, along with closed captioning sponsorships, radio ads, Web banner ads at canada.com and globeandmail.com and print ads in the National Post. An online contest will follow in December. The contest will require participants to "name their need" by selecting from a list of skills and services provided by CGAs. The winner will receive $10,000. In January an Internet campaign will focus on tax preparation, the resources available from CGA Ontario and the association's free accountant referral service. Separately, CGA Ontario and CGA British Columbia have created a video aimed at high school students. The nine-minute "Think CGA" video was produced by Stonehenge Media Group of Toronto. It uses interviews with accountants and students in a CGA program to inform students about career opportunities in accountancy. Over the next several weeks the videos will be distributed to secondary schools in Ontario and British Columbia.
