Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG of Toronto has been appointed the Canadian agency of record for Red Lobster of Orlando, FL. Red Lobster is a chain of seafood restaurants with approximately 660 locations in Canada and the U.S. It had been looking for someone to handle the Canadian market, according to agency president Tom Blackmore. In the U.S. Red Lobster uses Euro RSCG Tatham Partners of Chicago. Because of that existing experience with Euro RSCG, the company met with Sharpe Blackmore when it began searching for a Canadian firm. Sharpe Blackmore will have strategic, creative, media planning and media buying responsibilities.
In related news, Sharpe Blackmore has begun a new campaign for the Katz Group of Pharmacies. Based in Edmonton, the Katz Group includes Guardian, I D A, Pharma Plus Drugmart and Rexall Drug Stores. The national television campaign broke on Sept. 9 promoting a "Win-Win Event" that is taking place at participating stores. In each scene, products pop into view when it becomes obvious that they have been used or should have been used.
