BMO FINANCIAL GROUP BEGINS CHANGING SIGNAGE AND WEB SITE, READIES ADVERTISING

BMO Financial Group has started changing the signage at its Canadian properties. The financial services company is implementing a branding program announced in June. The program will add the initials "BMO", pronounced "bee-mo," according to the company, to the bank's businesses, including Bank of Montreal retail branches. All of the companies will now be collected under the BMO Financial Group name. Initial changes include new signage at the bank's flagship branch at King and Bay Streets in Toronto and the construction of a new BMO Financial Group Web site at <http://www.bmo.com>. This site incorporates the new "red roundel" logo and a streamlined navigation system. The sign change program for the group's Canadian properties is expected to be completed within 12 months. BMO Financial Group's design and identity firm is Ove Design & Communications. The branding program will be supported with television and print advertising in English and French breaking the first week of October, according to Michael Beckerman, senior vice-president of marketing for BMO Financial Group. In English Canada advertising for BMO Financial Group is done by Vickers & Benson Arnold. In Quebec it is done by Cossette Communication-Marketing.
