CAR MAKER TO CONSOLIDATE TWO MARKETING DIVISIONS

General Motors Corp. of Detroit is looking at combining its Pontiac car and GMC marketing units to streamline its sales network and sharpen the images of its brands. The move is part of a broad realignment of GM's brand strategy, under the direction of marketing chief Ronald Zarrella. Other GM divisions are Chevrolet, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick and Saturn.
