COCA-COLA DOWN TO FIVE IN MEDIA REVIEW

Toronto-based Coca-Cola Ltd. has put five agencies on a shortlist for its English-language media planning and buying account: Media Buying Services, Cossette Communications Group, M2 Universal, Carat Canada and incumbent Starcom MediaVest. Each of the five agencies have a connection to Coca-Cola, said Kari Kerr, senior manager of corporate communications for Coca-Cola. All of the firms either work for the beverage company directly or belong to an agency that does. A final decision is expected by the end of next month. Coca-Cola's French-language media planning and buying assignment, which is handled by Cossette, is not affected by this review.
