ASTRAL MEDIA OUTDOOR PICKS WINNER OF RADICALLY VERTICAL CONTEST
By Adnews Staff
Astral Media Outdoor has announced the winner of its "Radically Vertical" contest. The winning entry was created by Montreal-based Bos to promote the 100th anniversary of its client Urgel Bourgie, a Quebec funeral service provider. The poster displayed the Urgel Bourgie name and the text "1902 - " on a white background. The ad was created by designer and writer Michel Rondeau, artistic director Jean-Christian Bizier, customer service rep Hélène St-Amand and Denis D'Etcheverry of Urgel Bourgie. The four have won a trip to the Cannes International Advertising Festival in June, where the ad will be entered in the competition. The Radically Vertical contest began in June 2001 and ran until January 2002. It was open to members of Canada's advertising industry. Vertical outdoor ads were submitted each month and voted on by visitors to a contest Web site. The grand prize winner was chosen in March by a jury of creative staff from Canadian advertising agencies.
