TRANSCONTINENTAL MEDIA BUYS TWO PUBLISHING FIRMS

Transcontinental Media will acquire Editions Versicolores and Specialites Terre a Terre. The two Quebec City companies are owned by partners Francois Bernatchez, Jacques Bernatchez and Paul Poisson. Financial details of the acquisition are unknown. Editions Versicolores' publications target consumers and professionals in the horticulture industry. Its Fleurs, Plantes et Jardins magazine is published nine time a year and has a circulation of 71,000. Editions Versicolores also produces a trade publication called Quebec Vert, an annual buyers' guide called Guide de l'acheteur and gardening Web site <http://www.jardinage.net>. Specialites Terre a Terre publishes and distributes guides aimed at gardeners, home decorators and do-it-yourselfers. At the close of the acquisition Bernatchez, Bernatchez and Poisson will join Transcontinental in as-yet undetermined positions.
