ACA CONDUCTS REMUNERATION STUDY

The Association of Canadian Advertisers is conducting a remuneration survey. The online survey will examine the ways in which Canadian advertisers pay their marketing communications agencies. It is being conducted by Ipsos-NPD on behalf of the ACA. The organization's previous report on remuneration was released in 1999. Companies participating in the survey are being asked whether they pay their agencies commissions or fees. The survey also asks about commission rates, type of fees, fee costs and the use of bonuses or incentives. The results will put into a database available to ACA members. According to Susan Charles, vice-president of member services for the association, the survey will allow the ACA to compare current practices and anticipate trends in the client/agency relationship. The results are expected to be released to association members the end of June. An executive summary will be distributed to non-members.
