GREAT ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC PROMOTES FRESHNESS GUARANTEE

The Great Atlantic and Pacific Company of Canada Ltd. has begun a print, radio and television advertising campaign to promote its new "it's fresh or it's free" guarantee. This is a continuation of the "Fresh Obsessed" campaign the company introduced for its A&P, Dominion and Ultra Food & Drug stores three years ago. The new guarantee states that if a customer finds a spoiled item in one of these stores in Ontario, that customer will receive a fresh replacement free of charge. The radio and television advertising was created by Rethink of Vancouver. The ads depict customers unsuccessfully trying to find a spoiled item. Print advertising in newspapers will explain the guarantee itself. The advertising will run throug the year, supported by in-store signage and promotion in the A&P, Dominion and Ultra Food & Drug's weekly flyers.
