AIR CANADA INTRODUCES ZIP AIR IN WESTERN CANADA
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based Air Canada has launched a low-fare carrier called Zip Air Inc. The carrier will be based in Calgary and operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air Canada. Zip's six aircraft will offer flights between Vancouver and Calgary beginning this summer. According to the company, within its first year of operations, Zip will expand to additional markets in Canada and the United States. Zip's planes will be painted in one of four colours: fuchsia, blue, green and orange. Each will display Zip's logo in white and the URL <http://www.4321zip.com>. Each plane will also have a wavy line of dots running from the rear of the aircraft to the front. At the end of the line is a bee. Schedules, fares and the start date for tickets sales are as yet unknown.
