YTV INCREASES CIRCULATION OF WHOA!

Toronto-based YTV will increase the circulation of its publication Whoa! Magazine from 210,000 to 250,000 copies, beginning with the spring issue being distributed this week. The quarterly publication is aimed at eight- to 12-years-olds. It is produced by YTV and Toronto-based Paton Publishing. It is available at participating Canadian Pizza Hut restaurants, by subscription or through newsstands. Also, branded point-of-sale materials will be located at Pizza Hut restaurants beginning this month. A Whoa! magazine rack, table-top display cards and activity placemats, designed by g-comm Marketing, will remind consumers to pick up a copy of the magazine. According to Susan Schaefer, vice-president of marketing for Corus Entertainment, which owns YTV, the increase in Whoa! Magazine's distribution numbers demonstrates the success the publication has had in appealing to kids across the country.
