GILLETTE TO DEBUT TWO NEW CAMPAIGNS NEXT MONTH

The Gillette Company of Boston, MA will introduce two new advertising campaign for its women's Venus razors and men's MACH3Turbo shaver next month. The North American campaigns were created by BBDO New York. The Gillette For Women Venus campaign will begin on April 1. Three new commercials continue with the "Reveal the Goddess in You" theme used last year. They are set on a tropical beach and use a rendition of the song "Venus". The 25-second ads will also include 5-second tags for the new Crystal Clear Venus razor and the "Anti Nicks & Cuts" Satin Care shave gels. Print advertising will appear in June in magazines including Marie Claire, InStyle and Essence. On April 22 television advertising for Gillette's MACH3Turbo shaving system will break. The 30- and 15-second spots depict a man shaving while floating in a space shuttle. The television advertising will be accompanied by print ads which run in magazines including GQ, Maxim and Newsweek next month. Public relations for Gillette are handled by Porter Novelli of New York.
