BEER MAKER NEEDS AD MAKER

The Upper Canada Brewing Co. of Toronto has been looking for an agency since Bensimon/Byrne resigned the account last week. The company is currently talking to other agencies and could have a short list in a month, president Terry Smith told Adnews yesterday. The two parted ways because of "creative differences," said Smith who refused to comment any further. Bensimon/Byrne used the same phrase in a release announcing the split. The Toronto agency was given the account without a review last February because Upper Canada liked the work it had done for other clients. Before that, the business was with Ranscombe & Co. of Toronto. Upper Canada makes all-natural European-style beer. Its brand names include lager, Light Lager, Dark Ale, Colonial Stout, Publican and True Bok.
