MAGAZINE HITS NEWSSTANDS
By Adnews Staff
The Montreal International Auto Show put its annual show magazine on newsstands last week, for the first time. The move was made to give potential attendees a glimpse of what is happening at the show. Until now the publication, called New Cars 1996 in English and Nouveautés Auto 96 in French, was given to show attendees when they paid their admission. There is a Rate Them Yourself feature that contains a questionnaire and evaluation chart to help a buyer choose which vehicle is right for him or her. The magazine has a section on prototypes and an article called "Looking Good Under the Hood" which discusses the new trend to adding a designer touch to the engine compartment. The news section contains a review of this year's new cars, plus a price range for all American, European and Asian models. In all, there are 25,000 copies of the magazine available at newsstands, 5,000 in English and 20,000 in French. There will also be just over 200,000 magazines given to show-goers when they pay their admission. The magazine is published by the Montreal Automobile Dealers Corp.
