Rich Gaasenbeek has joined Silicon Graphics Canada of Mississauga, Ont. as marketing director. Previously he was alternate channels and marketing director at Data General (Canada) Inc. Gaasenbeek also worked at Hewlett-Packard (Canada)
...Kevin Wright has moved over to the Family Channel of Toronto as programming vice-president. Most recently he was at YTV Canada as programming director. Wright has also worked at Paragon International as operations manager and in the creative affairs department at Telefilm Canada
...The Chinese Canadian Advertising Marketing & Media Association has elected it boards in Vancouver and Toronto for 1996. In Toronto the new president is Terrence Wong of FM88.9/AM 1430 Radio. Rick Wong of Fortune Advertising has been appointed vice-president and Sally Chan of ERA Advertising was elected treasurer and secretary. Annie Ho of Fairchild Television is handling publications, Martin Seto of Access Advertising is doing public relations and Raymond Shiu of Ming Pao Newspapers is taking care of special projects. Paul Yee of China Syndrome has returned for a second term in charge of advertising awards. In Vancouver, Joseph Chan of Fairchild Television has moved to chairman, after serving as vice-chairman last year. Aida Liang of Bryant, Fulton & Shee has been elected vice-chairman. Last year she was a director. Caroline Schroeder of Cathay Pacific Airways is the new secretary and Elsa Lai of Ken Koo Creative Group is the treasurer. The CCAMMA promotes the use of Chinese professionals and media vehicles in marketing programs for Canada's Chinese population.
