MOSAIC RE-ORGANIZES, BUYS CUSTOM OFFERS, DEALS WITH WORLDCOM

Toronto-based marketing company Mosaic Group has reorganized its 23 independent business units into four. As a result, Mosaic expects to reduce its full-time staff by up to 10%. The company has operations in Canada, the U.S. and the United Kingdom. The new units are: Performance Solutions North America, headed by president David Graft; Marketing & Technology Solutions North America, headed by president John Hoholik; Sales Solutions North America, headed by president Brian Meagher; and Mosaic United Kingdom, headed by president Jerry Stone. A fifth unit will also be created, according to the company, to lead new business development across the other four units. It will be headed in the interim by Marc Byron, vice chairman and chief executive officer of Mosaic Group.

In related news, Mosaic Group plans to acquire Custom Offers LLC, an Internet marketing company based in Evanston, IL. Custom Offers provides permission-based consumer data for direct marketing programs. It will be renamed Mosaic Data Solutions. Also, Mosaic has discontinued the direct marketing work it did for AT&T Wireless on an exclusive basis and formed a new non-exclusive deal with Worldcom Wireless by which Mosaic will market Worldcom's consumer wireless services in the U.S.
