CORUS COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF TRI-CO

Toronto-based Corus Entertainment completed its $4 million acquisition of Tri-Co Broadcasting, based in Cornwall, ON, last week. Tri-Co operates three radio stations: Variety 104.5 FM, an adult contemporary station; Blaze 101.9 FM, a country music station; and Jewel 1220 AM, which plays oldies. Corus now owns 52 radio stations. The Tri-Co acquisition extends the company's reach in eastern Ontario, increasing Corus' coverage between Kingston, ON and Montreal.
