MICROSOFT HOLDING AGENCY REVIEW TO CONSOLIDATE CONSUMER PR

Microsoft Canada of Mississauga has begun an agency review to consolidate the consumer portion of its public relations business. Currently Microsoft uses Hill and Knowlton for the MSN, home and retail components of the account and Edelman for its Xbox public relations. Hill and Knowlton also handles PR for Microsoft's Enterprise B2B business. That relationship is not affected by this review. Neither is Microsoft's relationship with Media Profile, which handles corporate public relations. Hill and Knowlton and Edelman, along with several unidentified Canadian agencies, are participating in the review. Brian Stock, corporate public relations manager for Microsoft Canada, said a decision is expected by late January or early February.
