TIMOTHY'S ACQUIRES MMMUFFINS CANADA

Toronto-based specialty coffee retailer Timothy's Coffees of the World Inc. is buying mmmuffins Canada Corp., also of Toronto. Mmmuffins operates about 90 retail outlets in Canada. Its three store formats include mmmarvelous mmmuffins, michel's baguette and Muffin Break. "We are delighted to welcome these great franchises into the world of Timothy's," said Becky McKinnon, president and chief executive officer of Timothy's Coffees. "MCC's commissary, which currently provides its retail locations with freshly baked breads and pastries around the clock, will complement our own roasting facility, enabling us to provide our franchisees and customers with coffee and pastries of unprecedented freshness and quality." Timothy's purchased 52 GrabbaJabba locations from Comac Food Group in October. This new acquisition brings the total number of Timothy's owned and operated locations to roughly 240.
