ADCRITIC.COM CLOSES

U.S.-based Web site AdCritic.com has shut down. A message posted online by the site's founder Peter Beckman said the business was "unable to weather the current economic realities beseiging the United States today." Beckman thanks visitors for their support and adds that he hopes to be back in "full swing someday soon." According to a report in the National Post, Beckman said banner advertising began drying up earlier in the year, prompting him to begin developing a new commercial service aimed at agencies and their clients. "But we were a little too late with it, given our funding," said. Beckman started the Web site, which archived television commercials, three years ago.
