VIRGIN ENTERTAINMENT GROUP TO OPEN TORONTO MEGASTORE

Virgin Entertainment Group, North America will open a Virgin Megastore in Toronto in 2003. The store, which will be at the corner of Yonge Street and Dundas Street, will be the second Virgin Megastore in Canada. The first is in Vancouver. Expected to be about 40,000 square feet in size, the store will carry roughly 25,000 music CDs, 20,000 movie and music DVDs and videos, 2,000 software titles for PCs, Macs and the Sony Playstation and a specialty book section with a reading area. The Toronto location will also include a MegaPlay preview system, which consists of flat panel monitors displaying music videos and movies. The store will also have multimedia demonstration stations, music listening stations, special events, in-store concerts and autograph signings. The company plans to have 35 Megastores operating in North America by 2007.
