NEW YORK FRIES OPENS STREET-FRONT LOCATION
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based New York Fries has opened its first street-front location in Toronto. The two-storey, 2,000 square foot restaurant is the chain's first location outside of venues such as shopping centre food courts, amusement parks and movie theatres. The location produces the chain's full selection of New York Fries and toppings, which include chili, bacon, green onions, sour cream, gravy and poutine. The restaurant also offers a new line of mayonnaise-based dips, sausages, hot dogs and ice cream for dessert. "The decision to develop a street-front restaurant was easy in a sense because it was the logical, organic next stop in our evolution," said Jay Gould, president and CEO of New York Fries. The chain used Hirschberg Design for the look of the restaurant. The exterior features bright colours, while the interior contains a full-size chip truck, a hot dog cart and a collection of gargoyles. Outdoor advertising and 10,000 door hangers, created by CHC of Toronto and distributed to households in the vicinity of the new location, were used to promote the opening. New York Fries operates 174 corporate and franchise-run locations in Canada, South Korea and Australia. Public relations for New York Fries are handled by Buzz Marketing & Public Relations of Toronto.
