By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Environics Communications has acquired Argyle Communications, also of Toronto. Financial details are not known. Argyle is a 22-year-old public relations firm with annual income of over $1 million. The agency operates as Argyle Rowland Worldwide. It will continue as a separate business, keeping both its name and staff of ten employees. Agency founder Ray Argyle will continue as chairman and chief executive officer. Environics president Bruce MacLellan said the acquisition was the result of an opportunity "coming along." He also said that he and Argyle have known each other for years. Environics, which MacLellan founded in 1994, has a staff of about 70 and annual income of $9 million. It has offices in Montreal, Toronto, Stamford, CT and Washington, DC.
