By Adnews Staff
Pigeon Branding + Design of Oakville, ON in partnership with Applied Arts, Ontario College of Art and Design, Strategy magazine and The Wine Establishment is sponsoring a competition called "Wine By Design." Ontario students are invited to submit packaging design and promotional ideas for a hypothetical Canadian wine brand. A number of colleges in the province are participating, however any full-time student at an Ontario college or university offering graphic design as part of its curriculum may enter. Interested students can register online at <http://www.wine-by-design.ca>. Participants will be provided with a briefing and asked to design labels for two products and one poster to promote a product. A panel of judges will determine the winners of a $2,000 bursary, a $500 wine weekend in Niagara, a $200 gift certificate from The Wine Establishment and three wine collection awards of merit with a value of $150 each. The competition runs until March 15. Posters and information kits have been distributed to participating schools to promote the competition. Presentations at those schools are planned for the coming months.
