BELL CANADA INTRODUCES GAMESMANIA.COM

Bell Canada has launched a new subscription-based computer games Web site called GamesMania.com. Subscribers can play English- and French-language PC games such as Icewind Dale, Silent Hunter II, Tomb Raider IV and Virtual Pool III. The site also contains articles, reviews, previews and cheat codes. The company expects to add more games to the service on an ongoing basis. A gold package for $19.95 a month entitles customers to unlimited play of five games. The silver package at $14.95 a month entitles customers to three games with unlimited play. A pay-as-you-play rental option is also available through which games can be rented for three, seven or 30 days. Bell will promote GamesMania.com with online, print and cinema advertising, consumer events and statement inserts to 5.5 million households in Ontario and Quebec. A custom direct mail piece will target customers of the Sympatico High Speed Internet service. Advertising for Bell Canada is done by Cossette Communication-Marketing.
