CLARIFICATION

A story about personal communications systems in Adnews on Dec. 21, 1995 failed to mention that Groupaction of Montreal handles Quebec advertising for Rogers Cantel of Toronto.

An item on the Canadian Tobacco Manufacturers' Council (CTMC) advertising code (Dec. 20, 1995) said that ads would be cleared by a tribunal composed of Association of Canadian Advertisers president Patrick McDougall, Institute of Canadian Advertising president John Sinclair and Joseph Mullie, general manager of the Quebec ad agency umbrella group L'Association des agences de publicité du Québec. Actually they hired two retired judges form the tribunal. The three ad industry executives will act as a liason between the tribunal and the tobacco industry, as well as providing answers to specific questions about the ad industry.
