CRTC TO NAME NEW CHAIRMAN

According to a report in the National Post the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is about to pick a new chairman. Charles Dalfen, a Toronto communications lawyer, will reportedly replace David Colville, who has been acting chairman since the departure of Francoise Bertrand almost a year ago. Dalfen was vice-chairman of the CRTC from 1976 to 1980. He has also been a deputy minister in the British Columbia government as well as a legal advisor to the federal government.
