NEWCAP ACQUIRES SUDBURY RADIO STATION

Newcap Inc. of Dartmouth, NS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Newfoundland Capital Corp. Ltd., has received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for its purchase of radio station CHNO-FM in Sudbury, ON. The acquisition is expected to be completed on Nov. 26. "Sudbury is the hub of economic activity in Northern Ontario," said Bob Templeton, president of Newcap Broadcasting. "We are thrilled to be able to expand out regional presence in Northern Ontario. We look forward to providing first rate programming, news and community services to the region." Newfoundland Capital Corp. operates 35 radio licenses in Canada, produces 17 newspapers and specialty publications, and operates a commercial printing business.
