Almost half of U.S. senior executives have access to on-line services at work, according to a study by The New York Times and Doremus & Co. of New York. The survey found that 84% of CEOs, chief financial officers and senior VPs have computers on their desks, and 43% have on-line access. Ninety-four per cent of executives under the age of 45 sit in front of computers, compared to 80% of the older crowd. Fifty-four per cent of the younger executives are on-line, compared to 37% of those over 45-years-old. Seventy-five percent of executives have home computers and 36% have home access to on-line services, but only 6% use their home on-line services most days or every day.
