MSN.CA GOES UP IN NEW SPOT
By Adnews Staff
MSN breaks a new television commercial for its eShop online shopping service today. The 30-second ad is intended to show how MSN has taken online shopping to a "new level" since launching the service earlier this month. The commercial opens with a woman riding up an escalator. She is dressed in pyjamas and a housecoat and is holding a cup of coffee. At the top of the escalator she enters a bedroom, sits down at a computer and clicks through a series of eShop shopping functions. A voiceover says "All the retailers you want. All the comparisons. All in one place. It's like having a mall at home. Holiday shopping at MSN.ca." The ad, called "Escalator", will run nationally through November and December. MSN is also running a contest called the MSN eShop Naughty or Nice sweepstakes this holiday season. Contestants enter by putting together a holiday gift list using My eShop. Weekly grand prizes of $5,000 and three weekly $1,000 stocking stuffer prizes will be awarded. Advertising for MSN.ca is done by MacLaren McCann. Public relations are handled by Hill & Knowlton.
