AIR MILES HIRES MACLAREN MCCANN, ADDS TWO SPONSORS
By Adnews Staff
The Air Miles Rewards program has named MacLaren McCann its new agency of record. The agency won the business after a review of an unknown number of agencies. Previously direct marketing and advertising was handled by Wunderman and Young & Rubicam. The Air Miles program was created by The Loyalty Group of Toronto in 1992. Members collect rewards miles at program sponsors across Canada. Miles can be redeemed for rewards including, among others, travel, movie passes, and merchandise.
In related news, Speedy Auto & Window Glass and the Olde Hide House have been joined the loyalty program as sponsors. Members can now collect Air Miles at any Canadian Speedy Auto and Window Glass location except those in Quebec and Prince Edward Island. Members can also collect reward miles at the Olde Hide House in Acton, ON. Both sponsors are included in Air Miles' fall radio campaign which begins today. The two new sponsors are also being promoted in member's October statements and with in-store materials. Radio advertising and POS materials were created by Wunderman and Young & Rubicam, both of Toronto. Public relations are handled by GCI Group.
