INTEL BEGINS TECHNOLOGY QUEST

Intel Corporation, based in Santa Clara, CA, breaks a new worldwide advertising campaign for its Pentium 4 processor this week. "Technology Quest" depicts alien characters who travel to earth and discover the Pentium 4 in their search for the most advanced technologies in existence. The three 30-second television spots, called "Digital Discovery", "Digital Transformation" and "Digital DJ", use the tagline "The Pentium 4 processor. The centre of you digital world." Print and online advertising are also part of the campaign. The television and print advertising was created by Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer EURO RSCG of New York. The online advertising was done by Modem Media. In Canada the campaign will consist of television and online advertising. The spots will be seen on cable and specialty networks including Global, CTV, CHCH, CBC, Discovery, Space and ROB TV. The online ads will run on large Web sites such as Excite and Sympatico. Adaptation of the ads was done by Intel of Canada's advertising agency Sharpe Blackmore of Toronto. Media buying was handled by HYPN. Advertising is being supported with public relations from Cohn & Wolfe.
