ALLIED DOMECQ TO RE-LAUNCH DUNKIN' DONUTS IN QUEBEC

Allied Domecq International's Montreal-based fast-food division has appointed a new management team to re-launch its Dunkin' Donuts chain in Quebec. Pierre Moreau and Denis Paquette have been named director of marketing and communications and executive general manager, respectively. Allied Domecq is the parent company of the Dunkin' Donuts, Baskin' Robins ice cream and Togo's sandwich chains. Moreau and Paquette will seek to rebuild and consolidate these three chains in Canada with a focus on re-making Dunkin' Donuts' image in the Quebec market. According to the company, in Quebec the Dunkin' Donuts chain has been facing strong competition in the past few years. Of the nearly 200 Dunkin' Donuts locations in Canada, 175 are in Quebec. Moreau joins Allied Domecq from Sobey's. Previously he was brand director for IGA and Sobey's private label brands. Paquette was previously vice-president of operations for Le Cage aux Sports restaurants.
